rapaura watergardens in tapu was a true oasis of tranquility. our longer stay allowed us to fully appreciate the unique setting, private gardens, and warm hospitality. the 1960s-style cottage was cozy and spotless, with a comfy bed. sally and sacha were delightful hosts, and their passion for the place shone through. highly recommended for a quiet, romantic retreat!
Noisy possums on the roof at night.

The location of this hotel was fantastic. It was located close to key landmarks and attractions which made it easy to navigate the city on foot. The staff were friendly and welcoming, providing excellent service. The facilities at the hotel were top-notch, especially the fully equipped kitchen and the beautiful terraces.
The dirty sand-road leading to the hotel was a bit of a challenge to navigate, especially if you were not familiar with the area. The lack of WiFi in the cottage was a slight inconvenience, but it was available in the nearby Cafe during the day.

Title: A Unique Oasis of Nature with Delicious BBQs
Oh, how dreadful to not have Wi-Fi available in the cottage. How else would I share my fabulous retreat with the world?

Spent my Christmas in New Zealand and it was a memorable experience. the location was perfect, with scenic views of the forest and waterfalls. the food at the restaurant was delicious, especially the fresh eggs offered for breakfast. the rooms were spacious, well stocked with amenities, and felt just like home. the lack of Wi-Fi was a great opportunity to disconnect from the rest of the world and truly relax. the well-maintained gravel road to the eastern side provided an adventurous journey.
That I had to leave. I wish I could have stayed longer to continue exploring the area and to enjoy the peace and quiet of the surroundings.

From the moment we arrived, we felt at home. The hosts were friendly and went above and beyond. The lodge was old but well-maintained, with timeless design. The fully-equipped kitchen and fresh eggs for breakfast were a bonus. The location was central, making it easy to access nearby attractions. The peacefulness of the forest at night was a delight. The lack of TV and wifi allowed us to reconnect as a couple and enjoy games.
The lack of information about the road conditions, especially for tourists unaware of the streets. It would have been helpful to know about the dirty sand-road from the east.

From the moment I arrived at this charming retreat, I felt right at home. The peacefulness of the surrounding forest and the stunning watergardens were simply breathtaking. The cottage was spacious and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. One highlight was the delicious dinner prepared by the hosts, Sacha and Sally, which left me craving for more. Although there was no WiFi in the cottage, it was actually a blessing in disguise as it allowed me to disconnect and truly enjoy the beauty of nature. I highly recommend this hidden gem for those looking to unwind and immerse themselves in the tranquility of the Coromandel Peninsula.
